Embroidery pattern
from an image.

Prepare clear shapes and spacing as a reliable basis for hand embroidery or digitising software.

A vector is not a stitch file.

Vector Boy creates clean shapes and contours, but not machine commands such as DST or PES. Embroidery software still needs to define stitch type, direction, density, underlay and sequence.

Avoid unnecessary micro-details. Thin bridges and tiny islands may disappear once thread, fabric and final size enter the process.

Suitable source material

  • One-colour logos and illustrations
  • Hand drawings with clear strokes
  • Motifs with closed outer shapes
  • Enough space between small details

Step by step.

  1. Load the image and begin in result view.
  2. Adjust black level, contrast and brightness until all intended lines are present.
  3. Remove isolated marks or unwanted regions with the cleanup option or lasso.
  4. Open vector view and inspect outer contours, counters and narrow gaps.
  5. Smooth only visible raster steps and simplify Bézier curves conservatively.
  6. Export the format that fits your next production step.
Practical rule

If a shape is barely visible at the final embroidery size, simplify or strengthen it before digitising.

Choose the right export.

PDF is useful for controlled print output, SVG for modern design and production software, EPS for traditional workflows, DXF for contour-based CAD and laser processes, and PNG for the cleaned raster result.

Frequently asked questions

Does Vector Boy export DST?

No. It supplies the clean geometric source that can then be digitised professionally.

Should I simplify Bézier curves heavily?

Only with care. Fewer points help editing, but too much simplification changes corners and counters.

Ready for clean contours?

From pixels
to paths.

Process your image locally, compare every contour and export only after the shape is right.
